WITH LOVE TO A VIETNAM VET

  THANK YOU!

Army, Air Force Navy and Marines, you are burned into my heart and soul, and  I love you dearly. THANK YOU for all the sacrifices you’ve made for this country. For the physical and mental anguish you’ve been through. For the sense of loneliness. COURAGE you displayed in fighting for our country and caring for our wounded.  For being there for your fellow comrades when they needed you.

  I’M SORRY!

For the mental and physical baggage you had to bring home from the war.  For the men who died in your arms.  For the babies you never seen born or take their first steps.  For the wives, girlfriends, husbands and boyfriends, who couldn’t wait for your return.  For the Dear John letters that broke your heart.

For the terrifying nights you wondered if you would ever make it home alive!  For the tears cried in secret, we could not wipe away, or the hugs to say we care.  For the disrespect shown by some of your fellow Americans.  For a government that wouldn’t let you win the war.  For the politics that kept you there too long.  For the Welcome Home you never received.  For the neglect shown to you since your return.

  I SALUTE YOU!

Let me take this time to SALUTE all of you for “Courage Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.”  I am humbled to be a part of your lives and very honored to listen to what your heart has to say to all of us.

From you lessons can be learned and the definition of Honor and Respect can be passed on to our children and all of mankind.

  REMEMBER!

I will make sure you're REMEMBERED, and also those of your fellow Veterans whose bodies lay cold in the ground.  For they are only forgotten if NOT remembered.

AND

  “We will Remember”

Love and Respect,
Your Country
